In traffic insurance, the no-claim level seriously affects the premium. There is an 8-tier system.
Tiers
- Tier 1: Standard premium (newbie)
- Tier 2: 5% discount
- Tier 3: 10% discount
- Tier 4: 20% discount
- Tier 5: 30% discount
- Tier 6: 40% discount
- Tier 7: 50% discount
- Tier 8: 65% discount
Annual Promotion
Every year you pass without any damage, you will move up 1 level.
When You Deal Damage
- 1 damage: 1 level decrease
- 2 claims during the year: 2 level decrease
- Pertotal accident: additional decrease
Changing Insurer
- Level continues with new insurer
- Transition through SBM (Insurance Information Center)
- "No claim certificate" from old insurer
Supreme Court 11. HD
11. HD accepts that "Insurance Information Center data should be taken as basis" in the calculation of the level and that the different practices of the insurers are unfair.
Practical Recommendations
- For minor damages, pay for insurance/from your own pocket (to protect your level)
- Ask for your no-claim certificate every time you renew
- If the other party is at fault, your level will not decrease
