In order to become a mediator, a certain training and certification process must be completed.

- Law faculty graduate
- At least 5 years professional seniority
- 140 hours basic mediation training (Ministry of Justice approved training institution)
- Ministry of Justice exam

Specialized Training
There is a requirement for additional specialized training to be able to mediate in certain areas:
- Family mediation
- Business mediation
- Commercial mediation
- Consumer mediation
Registry and Renewal
- Registration in the registry is renewed with annual dues
- Continuous professional development training is mandatory
- Ethical violations may lead to deletion from the registry
