FSEK m.32-39 lists the exceptions to copyright. Use for educational purposes is an important exception.
Educational Exemption (FSEK art. 34)
- Reproduction for educational purposes in schools
- A certain period of time, a certain number of times
- There will be no commercial purpose
- It will not harm the legitimate interests of the author

Things That Should Not Be
- Photocopying the entire book
- Continuous publication on the website
- Commercial sale (course CD, etc.)
- Alternative use instead of a textbook
University and Academic Study
- Academic citation rules (APA, MLA)
- Quotation right (FSEK m.35)
- Limited length quotation
- Source must be cited
Scientific Publication
- Source must be cited for thesis and article publication
- Plagiarism is a serious crime (FSEK + academic ethical)
- May lead to academic title cancellation
Online Education
- Discussed after the pandemic
- Not wide broadcast, limited like in-class
- Recorded lecture should not be broadcast continuously
Supreme Court 11. HD
11. HD requests that the education exception should be "limited interpretation" and that it should not exceed the reasonable use limit of the work, even if there is no commercial intention.
