Deprivation of inheritance is the automatic termination of the title of inheritance due to serious events listed in the law. It is regulated in TMK Article 578.
Reasons for Deprivation
- Anyone who deliberately and unlawfully kills or attempts to kill the testator. Prevents the testator from making a will or eliminates the will. withholding
- One who destroys, conceals, forges the will
Difference from Iskat
- Iskat: By the will of the testator (through a will)
- Deprivation: By law (automatic)
Effect
The deprived person cannot get any share from the inheritance; his share passes to other heirs.
Forgiveness
If the testator declares that he clearly forgives the reason for the deprivation, the deprivation ends.

14. HD states that the reason for deprivation must be proven by a final conviction or must have clearly occurred.
