Reserved share is the legal share ratio that cannot be damaged by the death-related dispositions of the testator and must be left to the legal heirs. It is regulated in TMK article 506.

The reserved share of siblings has been abolished since 2007.
Calculation Example
The deceased spouse left behind + 2 children. His inheritance is 1,000,000 TL.
- Spouse: 1/4 legal share (250,000 TL) → all reserved share (250,000 TL)
- Each child: 3/8 legal share (375,000 TL) → 1/2 reserved share (187,500 TL)
- Total reserved share share: 250,000 + 187,500 + 187,500 = 625,000 TL
- Free share that the testator can save: 375,000 TL
