Guardianship is established to protect the persons and assets of minors or restricted persons. Trustee is appointed for a specific job.

- Minor not under guardianship
- Restricted due to mental illness/weakness
- Substance addiction restricted
- Person sentenced to more than 1 year in prison
Types of Trustees
- Absence trustee (to the absent person)
- Management trustee (who cannot manage the assets)
- Representation trustee (if there is a separate interest from the legal representative)
Civil Judge of Peace
Appointment, supervision and termination of guardian/trustee are done by the civil judge of peace. The guardian/trustee submits a report every year.
